Where We Are in the Story
Immediately before this, feeding the 5,000 carries the story through John 6:1-15. Here, in The Sea of Galilee at night, in darkness and rough water, Jesus comes to the disciples walking on the sea. His words, 'I am; do not be afraid,' answer their fear with His presence, and the boat reaches its destination. The story then moves into bread of life discourse (John 6:22-59).
